Students will learn how to obtain eco-friendly color on a variety of
materials through research, experimentation and the collaborative
proccess. We will start by learning the foundations of natural dyeing-
experimenting with raw dyes, extracts and the indigo process.
Continuing in the collaborative process, students will create a book of
dye samples. Discussion topics, such as dye history, gardens and
techniques, will be supplemented with detailed handouts. All dyes and
some fabrics are provided. A list of other supplies will be mailed to
students before the first day of class. Open to all levels.
